The Author

Pamela Sanders Ellis, O.D., Ph.D., eye doctor, educator, and conference leader earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Spelman College, Atlanta, GA., and a Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She is the first female graduate of the Ph.D. in higher education program from Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD. She is President and Co-Founder of a nonprofit, Books Motivate Foundation, and Harambee Conference, LLC, a research, education conference, and community service organization. Dr. Ellis resides in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the United States with her husband, Byron A. Ellis, Ph.D. and their five daughters.
